X8 Drums On Fire Mountain is an adventure in which the party travels to an island near Thyatis to assassinate the new leader of a tribe of Kara-Kara (newly introduced in this module). Kara-Kara is basically a race of very human-like islanders reminding me of the Olmecs without the African features. The module itself is relatively straightforward and entertaining. Track down the leader, avoid any direct confrontation with the 100s of natives, kill the leader, grab all the loot possible, and get away alive. Simple, straightforward, plenty of creatures to fight, lots of good loot - what is there not to like?
Here is another module with no "continuing adventures" section. That's right - no epilogue for further adventures. Maybe the characters go back to the island to eradicate the Kara-Kara threat. Or, maybe the characters left lots of loot behind and they want to go collect the rest of it. In the module, it is mentioned that this Kara-Kara tribe has taken 3 Kara-Kara prisoners from another Kara-Kara tribe on another island. Maybe the characters next go eradicate the Kara-Kara on that island. That could lead to an entire Kara-Kara nation, spread about on different islands, that worships some chaotic immortal. There could be lots of Kara-Kara death and mayhem in the characters' futures.
