X13 Crown of Ancient Glory is a pretty good module with several different areas to explore and plenty of tough fights! It is set up in the northern Reaches area and can be played in conjunction with module X3 Curse of Xanathon and even module X11 Saga of the Shadow Lord. There is lots of intrigue and lots of subtle hints - versus obvious directions to go. Nevertheless and good DM and/or an experienced party should make it through the module without any issues.
There are really not any major changes I would make to this module, to be honest. I'd maybe add more meaningful wandering monster encounters, maybe include more low-level fighters - how is it that there are so many 7th - 9th level fighters and barely any 1st - 4th level fighters? I'd actually make a couple of the encounters a bit easier - because being swarmed by 40 dudes could get pretty tough - not to mention being a logistical nightmare for the DM. Instead of having a small army of 4th - 7th level fighters, I'd instead make it a bunch of 1st - 3rd level fighters with a few 6th - 9th level fighters that are running everything. Just makes more sense to me.
I enjoyed this module and I wish there were about 100 more expert-level modules after this one. If Wizards of the Coast ever wants to resurrect the campaign setting - hey give me a call - I can put together some great modules! If not - that's cool too. I wish I could make my own and sell them - but those pesky copyright laws would get in my way I suppose. So for now - let's enjoy what we've got!
