DA1 - Adventures In Blackmoor

DA1 Adventures In Blackmoor is a very detailed introduction into the Blackmoor Campaign Setting. This campaign setting is set 4000 years before the current Mystara campaign setting - yes - 4000 YEARS! The characters travel through a magical inn to get to that period in time, and must brave quite a number of enemies to make it to where they need to be for this adventure. Once there, there is a LOT of roleplaying involved as the characters figure out exactly what they need to do. There are pages and pages and pages of NPCs listed in the adventure and it is hoped that the DM uses all of them.

I played this module without all the extra NPCs. Just too much roleplaying and not enough hack and slash for me and the PCs. However, I'm sure that some of you out there really enjoy the roleplaying, and the intrigue that will be created during this roleplaying. I also made up a few inns in time that were much more inhabited than what is given in the module. A lot more fighting just to get to the correct Inn for any parties I DM'ed through the dungeon. I didn't really make many changes to the final prison in time version of the inn but it would be easy enough to do.

There is an great epilogue in the module, outlining all kinds of possibilities for the characters, along with mentioning the additional adventures that are available for the Blackmoor Campaign Setting. One time I ran these, I decided I didn't like the 4000 year old piece of it. I put Blackmoor and all the surrounding countries on another continent in Mystara. Talk about some empire building!
